1. News

  • John informed that there will be an additional LHCb OO Analysis and Design course in the week of 18-22 January, 1999. The first one is planned for 7 December. Those interested should communicate the preferred date and provide the proper budget code (for institutes outside CERN).

2.
LHCb Offline Application Framework: status report           (P.Mato)

Pere reported on the progress in definition of the LHCb Offline Architecture during the last week (see slides pdf). The overall arcitecture did not change. More detailed analysis was given to the Transient Event Store which now has a "file system" look and feel. The workload in preparation of the Architecture Description Document (ADD) was distributed. It is forseen to have an Architecture review in the end of November (to be organized by John Harvey).

3.
LHCb Offline scenarios   (P.Maley)

Paul presented the effort to collect scenarios of usage of the LHCb Offline Application Framework (see slides pdf). The input from all the potential users of the system is highly desirable. The scenarios will be used to check the architecture currently being developed.

Everybody is welcome to follow the progress in the  LHCb Offline Application Framework design on the project WWW page:
