Access to the Experimental Site

Only LHCb members duly authorized can access the Experimental Site (Pit8).

How to proceed to be authorised to access the LHCb Experimental Area

 1) Get the necessary safety training : Level 1,2,3, 4 and 4b
The new ‘Safety Awareness course for newcomers’ is obligatory  in order to access the CERN site.
This course is web based and can be followed using the link : http://sir.cern.ch.

2) Fill an EDH access request form for "UX85: LHCB underground (LHCB_U)"
 (See https://edh.cern.ch/Document/ACRQ)
It it is your first request  send a copy for information to your project leader and mention your project (i.e. velo, muon, etc) in the comments.

3) Register in the biometrics database and get a token identifier.
Go to building 55 and get yourself registered in the biometrics database that will be used to access in the LHC.
This involves taking pictures of the irises of both eyes.
You will also receive a token identifier, unless you already have a dosimeter with the blue plastic holder where
the identifier is already embedded.

As for the past, ask your Project Leader to register your name on the TWiki page, under the project you are associated to and subscribe to
lhcb-ux85 mailing list using e-groups.

Thanks in advance for your cooperation.
