for

CERN Staff, External Companies and Collaborating Institutes

Before starting any work at point 8, several well defined procedure has to be followed. To avoid any delay of your interventions this procedure has to launched well in advance; first documents have to be delivered three weeks prior the start of your work. On this page we will give you guidelines, links to the requested documents to be filled in and projects that have already started.

Please read before proceeding:

  • The first document you have to fill in is the PPSPS (Plan Particulier de Securite et de Protection de la sante). The first part A - PRÉSENTATION ET ORGANISATION GENERALE DU CHANTIER - of this document contains information of the general organization of the work site. This is followed by part B - PLAN D’EXÉCUTION DE LA SECURITE - which describes the execution  of work including a sketch of the area illustrating the different steps during the work.  This document has to be submitted three works before start of work.

If possible, please file your PPSPS in EDMS

  • At the same time you have to fill in an AOC - OUVERTURE DE CHANTIER - via EDH. This form has to be filled in only for an outside enterprise; work done by CERN or Collaboration Institutes the AOC does not exist yet.
In this form you have to fill in:

    • Start and End of Work

    • Location

    • Project Engineering supervision and co-ordination

    • Department responsible for the works and the Head of Project

  • In addition to the AOC you have to fill in the INTERNAL TRANSPORT and HANDLING REQUEST in case you require support from the Transport and Handling personnel (which is need for most projects).

  • Before you finally start the work, a VIC - JOINT INSPECTION VISIT on site - has to take place. This inspection will focus on subjects like  access, lift means, co-activities and scaffolding. Only after a positive outcome will you allow to go ahead with your intervention.
