I leave it up to Igor to contact other Russian scientists at CERN which I suggest you meet over lunchor in our cafetaria.Since you can still go down and visit the LHCb detector and the Russian spokesman Andrei Golutvin should have returned by next Thursday I believe you really have to visit this experiment.I will see what time he could be available, so in the following programme slots might still shift. Also note that extra footage on CERN and the LHC you can download from here:see the stockshots and under the LHC file.Suggestion : Programme 6 August-----------------------------------------8.30 arrival at CERN reception (see http://building.web.cern.ch/map/building?bno=33 )9.00 - 10.30 visit of the LHCb detector with Andrei Golutvin (TBC)11.00 - 12.00 visit of the CCC with Igor Tkachev and xxx12.05 - 13.00 visit at SM18 to see the LHC magnets with Igor Tkachevlunch with Russian scientists : names to be filled out later14.30... some extra footage with Igor in your office? or streets, buildings, entrance15.00 end of visitBest,Renilde--Renilde Vanden BroeckCERN - Press OfficeCH-1211 Geneva 23, SwitzerlandTel: +41 22 767 2141 - Fax: +41 22 785 0247

Dear Renilde,
thank you very much for you full answer.
It would be a great success for us to manage to film all this places.
Tell me please how much time will it take to do all this, i mean if this places are far away from each other?
Dear Natalya,We are happy to welcome the Russian TV channel CTC at CERN.
In principle it is all ok, though it would have been nice if you could have consulted us first to discuss dates of arrival.I have several press visits that week in August but by chance I am free on August 6. If Igor Tkachev can help me with the visit programme and with the getting you all around the site, that will be fine. However, one cannot visit the LHC tunnel any longer and if you like to go underground this can only happen now at LHCb detector. Luckily for you the spokesman of that experiment is Russian! He could welcome you, if he is back from vacation. However, I am sure we can connect you with a lot of other Russian scientists too.A day visit programme that would cover the whole LHC project, could be :- visit to the magnet test hall where on can film the LHC magnets that make up for the 27km tunnel accelerator- visit to the CCC which is the central control room of accelerators- visit to an LHC experiment ; in this case LHCb underground (hopefully, if there are no magnet tests that day)- visit to the Computing centre which will is cruxial for all datataking at CERN once the experiments start working and an introduction to the Grid. see http://www.gridcafe.org/- talk to other Russian scientists from other experiments. Please note that a lot of these sites are also in France, as well as in Switzerland (main site) so I hope you all have Visas for both countries. Also, you should have a carnet ATA for heavy television equipment going accross borders. They hardly check, but it is just in case they do, and I am obliged to tell you. When you say you arrive on the 6th does this mean you start filming that day ? And do you also stay on for the Friday 7th?You can always call me in case you need more information next week, best,Renilde

The First Russian entertaining TV channel “CTC” (audience 99,6 million of people) presents its compliments and has the honor to ask You about cooperation.
A new daily TV program “Want to believe!” will start in September 2009. Every day during 26 minutes the program will tell about mysteries and riddles of our planet: new information and unusual points of view on well-known facts, historical events and dates.
The host of our program is Boris Korchevnikov- a skilful journalist and a popular Russian actor.
One of the first broadcasts is devoted to modern scientific technologies.
We are sure that the Large Hadron Collider is a real wonder of human thought.
We know that some Russian scientists are involved in this project. We are cooperating with Tkachev Igor a scientist who takes part in LHC project. We would like to visit CERN and to interview experts who can tell us about this construction and function.
In this connection we kindly ask you to give us permission for visiting and filming
The date of our arrival to Geneva is 6th of August.
Thank You in advance for cooperation.
Yours faithfully
