Reference to "Beauty and Beast". Second proposal is ARC. The reason for that is an isometric view of LHC-B within experimental area at DELPHI spot. I have seen this graph on the wall in PS-conference room, closest one to front. It looks like an arc bow. (acronym: Angles Ratio(?) Correlation/Collaboration). Also from Webster: 5 : degree measurement on the circumference of a circle -- used especially in the phrase of arc <11 minutes 3 seconds of arc> Third proposal is ACME. We will be the first in LHC-list then. In some sence superiority is close to beautifull. Webster sais: Etymology: Greek akmE point, highest point -- more at EDGE Date: 1620 : the highest point or stage; also : one that represents perfection of the thing expressed (acronym: Angles Complete Matrix(Measuring?) I found out that the name LHC-B does pose problems when a funding authority wondered why we want to do B-class (= second rate) physics. ----------------- Hi Tatsuya, I would like to suggest a couple of names for the experiment : ABLE (A Beauty LHC Experiment). The name also implies that we are "able" to make the measurements proposed. BABEL (Beauty Anti-beauty Experiment @ LHC). The Tower of Babel is mentioned in Genesis as the place where all people spoke the same language. To the best of my knowledge it has so far been not picked up by any of the collaborations which will play a dominant role in beauty physics.
