Entire LHCb collaboration:  meeting with referees

Dear HLCb colleagues,

On 21st of January, Hans.Jurgen and I met with the LHCC referees informing the current status of the experiment. Main items were: New collaborators, RICH (photon detectors) Experimental area L-0 and L-1 trigger status Data handling (Offline and DAQ) Physics simulation (event generators and LHCC workshop) and briefly on other items (Calorimeter, inner, outer and vertex detectors, muon system) On Friday, our principal referee made a very short summary of the LHCb status in the closed session. Apparently, it was accepted very favourably, but no real discussion took place.

There will be a detailed status report by the referees during the March LHCC session (25-26 March). For this purpose, the referees requested to have a one day meeting on 24th of March with presentations by all the sub-system coorinators followed by a general discussion. It will start at 10:00.
