Dear LHCb Colleagues,
As announced during the last collaboration meeting, a meeting with the
LHCC referees took place on 24 March 1999. The following presentations
were made:

Discussion
A copy of transparencies are available as usual in our library opposite
to the LHCb secretariat.
During the discussion, the following requests were made by the referees.
1) A written summary of the all test beam activities for 1998 and 1999:
schedule, goal, achievement etc.. by the next meeting.
2) A written summary of the project plan with milestones and critical
paths for all the subdetectors in a uniform manner up to TDR's, by the
next meeting.
3) TP update of the inner tracker backup solution with Si: cost,
conceptual design etc. (no details are required).
4) A report on the event generator studies. Simulation studies for the
effect of radiation damage on the physics performance.
The following review meetings for the rest of the year have been agreed:
26 May afternoon: a short progress report by TC and SP, which includes:
presentation on items 1) and 2)
presentation on event generator studies
6 July afternoon: a report on the overall experiment by TC and SP and
special reports on RICH photon detector
progress,
inner tracker test beam results and Si option
by the
corresponding subdetector coordinators.
1 September afternoon: a short progress report by TC and SP.
19 October all day: full review with presentations by all the
coordinators.
Referees expressed their satisfaction for the progress we are making.
They reported their findings to LHCC on 26 March during the closed
session. Their reports were apparently received well.
I would like to thank to the coordinators and all the members of the
collaboration for their work which lead to this success.
