Dear LHCb users,
We have started a project to create a book-keeping for LHCb. I have
made a presentation of it during the LHCb software week and you can find
the slide at this URL :

The first step of this project is to get the User requirements. We have
already get some of these requirements that I list now.
1 - What must be store in the bookkeeping ?
DATA type : Real / Monte Carlo
Physics channel : mbias, bincl, Bd -> mx,...
Generator : production, decay, kinematics cuts
simulation : version of the simulation program and detector database
used
reconstruction : version of the simulation program and detector database
used
Statistics : run, number of events, seeds
Data location : homelab, tape file
2 - How to use the bookkeeping ?
Graphical interface to interrogate interactively the book-keeping
Generate cards file used by any analysis job
Interface to be used by software, DAQ,.. (API, ..)
