    LHC Computing Review
    --------------------
As you may well be aware, a major review of computing
has been launched by Hans Hoffmann, CERN's director
responsible for scientific computing. The software panel
referees have asked us the following question and I would
appreciate getting input from the collaboration :
"What have you learned so far about the successes and
failures of training programs and what do you intend
to do in the next two years? "
I would be very interested to get input from those who
have attended software courses, such as :
" C++ for particle physicsts" given by Paul Kunz
  "Hands-on Object-Oriented Analysis, Design and
Programming with C++ " given by John Deacon
Please let me know to what extent you found the courses useful
or insufficient. Any other comments you have concerning training
in general, suggestions for future training needs would also be
welcome.
We are being asked to answer these questions on a very short
timescale, so a very rapid response would be appreciated.
Many thanks,
   John
