Dear CB members and Convenors,
Following the advice from our LHCC referees, I have been
communicating with Jos Engelen, the new chairman of the LHCC,
about the July LHCC meeting where we aim at a positive
recommendation of the experiment. Here is an extract of an
e-mail. Please note that this is still very preliminary (Jos has
not yet even discussed with other LHCC members etc.) and
considere as a private information for you. Please treat this
with a special care. It gives us some feeling what to expect.

According to my current thinking it will be done as follows: you
will be invited to the next closed session (July 9) to give a
presentation to the LHCC. I may come back to you with more
details on the desired contents of this presentation, but it
should clearly concentrate on the issues that you discussed with
your referees based on their (and other committee members's)
questions. You can bring one or two other people to the closed
session to help you answering questions. (You will in any case
want to bring your Technical Coordinator). After this you will
leave the meeting and the LHC-B main referee will present his
report and formulate a recommendation. This recommendation will
then be discussed by the committee etc.
Clearly the discussion should concentrate on physics issues
and technical issues. But to a certain extent organizational and
financial matters will also have to be considered.
