Summary table of expected Dose, 1MeV-neutron equivalent and high energy hadrons ( >20 MeV)

All data  have been calculated with setup described in http://lhcb-background.web.cern.ch/lhcb-background/Radiation/RadLevels.htm (high statistic 2003 simulation) EXCEPT for those listed for Bunker that have been obtained for the final design of the bunker  and with smaller statistic.

 

The data are listed for 10 years (assuming average  L=2x1032cm-2 s-1 and sinel+diff = 80 mbarn, hence 1.6 x 107 interaction s-1 and 107 seconds  of data taking per year, with ONLY a safety factor 2 given that additional safety factors are taken for the electronics’ qualification. If those safety factors are not taken a bigger safety factors should be taken for these calculations.
