      1. Tracking in C++ status report (M.Needham)

  Matts presented the status of the C++ Tracking code in the Gaudi Framework. (ps)
  A technical meeting will take place after the the Computing meeting.

• The code as the same functionality as the SICB code (Kalman package).
• It uses Geant hits as starting input to get digitizings.
• The mapping of digits to cell is made by SICB Fortran routines.
• It re-uses the Kalman filter code written for the OT test beam.
• It re-uses transport stand-alone SICB routines ( that was very tricky).
• Problems
  • needs digitizations: for the moment standard dsts do not contain digization.
  • needs fast materials database flexible to changes in the detector description.
  • needs visualization for pattern recognition studies.
  • Vertex is not used in the fit: no hit avalaible for the moment because no converter yet.
