Before returning/going to CERN sites
Please be aware that to access CERN sites,
o    All members of personnel need authorization of their respective hierarchy to access the site.
o    Employed Members of Personnel as well as students, trainees, etc. shall come onto CERN sites only upon request of their supervisor and in accordance with instructions provided by the supervisor.
o    Users shall come into the site only on request of the Experiment Spokespersons or Technical Coordinators and in agreement with their Home Institutions.
o    This 15-minutes e-learning session is now mandatory to access CERN.

o      Users’ Office: Please note that owing to the situation surrounding COVID-19, the Users’ Office will be closed to the public until further notice, however it is ‘virtually open’ and all requests are being answered. For urgent matters, please send an email to or contact Gaelle Duperrier (+ 41 75 411 8314).
New users’ registration: In the context of the COVID-19 situation, PRT will be processed only on request of the LHC secretariats, Team Leaders, GAO/DAO, Group Leaders and Department Heads.

o    Dosimetry service :  Reading of dosimeters during exceptional period
For the time being there are still no exclusions, all dosimeters are still valid, even if they could not be read for a long period.
1 St week of September the automated checks will be
will reactivated for:  late reading, dosimeter non returned, institute certificated expired, RP trainings expired, contracts expired…
o    Novae restaurants :
R1 is now open from 7h00 to 15h00, 7 days a week. NEW! It is possible to order your meals in advance via click and collect : ;
R3 Prevessin is open from 07h45 - 16h00
.  Please note that all other CERN restaurants and cafeterias remain closed until further notice.
               . Vending machines are refilled with snacks, sweets, drinks (hot and cold), no more fresh products will be maintained.
o   The Post office and the UBS Bank are open during standard working hours as before.
o   Mail office: standard mails reception and sorting (Post CH & FR still operational), standard outgoing mail, deliveries, and collections in offices minimum 3 times a week. Express and registered mail service (inbound and outbound) is maintained.
o   CERN Shuttle service : The gradual reopening of the CERN site has allowed the shuttle service to restart circuit 2 (Prévessin via Foyer Schumann). The other circuits will remain inactive until further notice.
o   CERN hotel on Meyrin site- Reservations for stays from now to September 7th,2020 are open with restricted access. More details here. Stays after 7th September are fully open.
o   The Schuman hostel in Saint-Genis Pouilly remains open and also takes new reservations.

Printers, water fountains and meeting rooms
o   Printers in common areas can be used, please ensure to wipe down any equipment after use with the disinfectant and wipes that have been made available. 2-1065-CANC3 and 2-R026-HP4050
o   Water fountains can be used, please ensure to wipe down the fountains after use.
o    LHCb meeting rooms remain closed until further notice.
